Okay, so in fandoms, there will always be those pairings that the majority of people love and many fans get butthurt if you dislike them.
Let me tell you something: someone not having the same taste as you will NEVER be a legitimate reason to get angry at said person...EVER!
I tend to like pairings that are more canon, or if I do like a crack pairing, it's usually a heterosexual one with some basis for me shipping it.
That isn't to say I don't adore yaoi and yuri, but only canon yaoi and yuri.
And, no, pairings like UsUk or Shizaya do not count as canon. They are completely based in the minds of the fans who 95% of the time make them so disgustingly out of character that I'm not sure whether we watched the same show or not.
Pairings like Yukina/Kisa from Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi, or Shizuma/Nagisa from Strawberry Panic! is what I mean when I say canon.
That's not to say that I never ship slash or femslash, just not so much and not without being able to see it in my mind.
And even if you ship a completely crack pairing, try to keep them in character.
Here's an example with Durarara!!:
I ship Izaya/Namie. I ship it hard.
But you'll never EVER hear me say it would be a respectful or healthy relationship.
They would use each other to keep away loneliness. Izaya would get on her nerves, and Namie would bitch at him constantly.
The only thing that would hold them together is the mutual feeling of not wanting to be alone.
And even then, it's not like they would try to comfort each other at all.
Basically, I ship it as what it would be if it were canon: a very dysfunctional and unhealthy relationship.
What I'm saying is that if ship something that's completely crack, try to at least analyze how it would be in the canon.
Don't just throw Sebastian and Ciel into a hot sexual relationship because it's hot: think about how it would REALLY be.
This is probably going mostly to the people who write fanfiction for the fandoms I'm a part of. I hate seeing characters like Jounouchi being turned into someone's bitch!
Please check your characterization!
At the end of the day, my favorite anime pairings would be Hikaru Hitachiin/Haruhi Fujioka, Oz Vessalius/Echo, and Yuugi Mutou/Anzu Mazaki.

I commented on a picture saying that I liked it, but the boobs were kind of scary. I think it was an understandable comment, as this person had drawn Erza Scarlet's boobs to be at least twice the size of her head. I think the nipples alone were the size of her face.
But this person seemed to think I was dissing their artwork.
